The Yeazel Catholic Education Endowment Fund was created as a vehicle to honor Monsignor Yeazel and support his commitment to Catholic Education. The mission is to support Catholic education in the high schools and elementary schools (grades K-12) in the Western Region (Onondaga/Cortland County) of the Syracuse Diocese.
Requirements: Financial support/awards are need-based. Awards will be distributed to those families demonstrating financial need. Each family seeking support must file a financial aid application with FACTS Management.

MSGR. YEAZEL
Msgr. J. Robert Yeazel was ordained a priest for the Syracuse Diocese in 1967 and then continued his education, completing a master’s degree in child and family studies at Syracuse University. He is a native of St. Daniel Parish in Lyncourt. From 1973 to 1977, Msgr. Yeazel served as vice chancellor of the diocese and secretary to Bishop David Cunningham. In 1977, he was appointed chancellor and continued in that position for three years. He was named pastor of Immaculate Conception Church in Fayetteville in 1980 and served there for 12 years. During that time, Msgr. Yeazel was appointed regional vicar of the Western Region of the diocese. From 1992 to 2000, he served as Vicar for Priests. He was appointed pastor of Holy Cross Church in DeWitt in 2000 and spearheaded the construction of the new church building. He retired from Holy Cross in the Spring of 2017 and now assists at Holy Family Church in Syracuse.
