Safe Environment Facilitator Recruitment

The Office of Safe Environment actively recruits dedicated volunteers to serve as in-person Safe Environment Facilitators each spring and fall. This essential role supports our mission to provide child abuse prevention training throughout the Diocese of Syracuse.

To be considered for the role of Safe Environment Facilitator, applicants must meet the following criteria:

• Be age 21 or older;

• Have current Safe Environment training credentials;

• Submit a completed application with three (3) references;

• Attend a full-day Safe Environment Facilitator training session.

Spring 2026

The following dates have been scheduled for two Safe Environment Facilitator training sessions for Spring 2026.

• Saturday, April 18, 2026, 9:00 AM to 4:00 PM, at the Chancery in Syracuse, NY.

• Tuesday, April 21, 2026, 9:00 AM to 4:00PM, TBD in Utica, NY.

Parking, mileage reimbursement, and lunch will be provided.

The request for applications will open on Monday, January 26, 2026.

• Request an application:  Monday, January 26, 2026 - Friday, February 20, 2026

• Applications deadline:  Friday, March 13, 2026
