Memorandum of Understanding

The Diocese of Syracuse believes in the dignity of all children, young people, and vulnerable adults and reaffirms its condemnation of child abuse.

In keeping with this commitment, the Diocese of Syracuse entered into a Memorandum of Understanding with the elected District Attorneys of the seven (7) counties within the Diocese's geographic jurisdiction. The purpose of the Memorandum of Understanding is to establish and implement a consistent policy and reporting protocol concerning allegations of sexual misconduct and abuse of minors by members of the clergy and religious serving under the auspices of the Diocese of Syracuse.
