Syracuse, NY — The Diocese of Syracuse is pleased to announce the promotion of Joelle Zarnowski to Associate Director of Communications, effective July 1, 2025.
Joelle has served as the Communications Specialist for the Diocese since June 2024, bringing creativity, strategy, and dedication to her role. Among her contributions, she successfully launched Catholic Conversations, the Diocese’s official podcast, and continues to manage the diocesan website along with a range of digital communications initiatives.
Joelle’s history of service with the Diocese of Syracuse began in 2014, when she started her work in communications at St. Mary of the Assumption in Baldwinsville. She later served as the Program Coordinator in the diocesan Safe Environment Office from 2020 to 2022. Since 2022, she has held the role of Communications Coordinator for the Liverpool Catholic Community parishes, a position she continues to hold part-time.
She earned her Bachelor of Arts in Communications from Le Moyne College in May 2024, graduating summa cum laude. Joelle is an alumna of St. Mary’s Academy in Baldwinsville and remains an active member of the parish community at St. Mary of the Assumption in Baldwinsville. In addition to her professional work, she volunteers with the Baldwinsville High School Youth Ministry and serves as a facilitator for the Safe Environment Office.
In her new role as Associate Director of Communications, Joelle will support the strategic direction of the Diocese’s communications efforts, collaborating with diocesan leadership and ministries to further the mission of the Diocese.
