Syracuse, NY — The Diocese of Syracuse is pleased to announce that it has been awarded $500,000 in student scholarships for the upcoming 2026-2027 academic year through the Mother Cabrini Health Foundation, as administered by the BISON Children’s Scholarship Fund.
This funding will support Kindergarten through grade 12 students and families across the 17 Catholic Schools of the Diocese of Syracuse by expanding access to a Catholic education. These scholarships help reduce financial barriers for families seeking a faith-based education for their children.
This award continues the partnership between the Diocese of Syracuse, the Mother Cabrini Health Foundation, and the BISON Children’s Scholarship Fund, all of which share a commitment to increasing educational opportunities and supporting student success across Upstate New York.
Located in Buffalo, the BISON Children’s Scholarship Fund is a privately-funded tuition assistance organization whose mission is to broaden educational opportunities for children in grades K-12 by helping low-income families afford tuition at local private schools. It is the only K-12 scholarship organization serving Western and Upstate New York. Its K-8 program is among the largest of its kind nationally. Funds raised in the region remain in the region, helping ensure access to quality education regardless of income or zip code.
