The CSBC Board of Directors is pleased to announce the appointments of the three principals for the 2025–2026 academic year at St. John’s and St. James Elementary Schools, and Seton Catholic Central High School. These leaders bring a shared commitment to academic excellence, faith formation, and the holistic development of every student.
Ms. Julie LaMuraglia has been selected as the new principal of St. John the Evangelist elementary school following two rounds of interviews with a search committee of parents, teachers and administrators from CSBC and the Syracuse Diocese. Mrs. LaMuraglia brings 35 years of experience in education, working at the Johnson City, Union-Endicott, and Whitney Point school districts, as well as at SUNY Broome and the Catholic Schools of Broome Country. Nine years ago Mrs. LaMuraglia served as principal of Saint John the Evangelist and she is thrilled to return. Mrs. LaMuraglia and her family are parishioners of Saint Cyril's Church in Binghamton.
Mr. Patrick Monachino will remain at the helm as Principal at St. James School, and we thank him for his dedicated commitment as a leader and educator not only at St. James but in the CSBC at large. Mr. Monachino has been a steadfast leader at both St. James School and Seton Catholic Central and has been an integral part of the CSBC for many years.
Mr. Peter Stewart joins Seton Catholic Central in the role of Principal. Pete’s distinguished career is comprised of 34 years of public education, of which 25 years were spent as a building principal. Pete just retired as the Principal at Horace Mann Elementary School in Binghamton, New York, where he served in that role for 18 years. Pete has also served as a Director of Special Education, and as an Education Consultant/Campus Specialist for EdTomorrow. He will now turn his full attention to Seton Catholic Central. Known for fostering inclusive school communities by building great relationships with students and families while promoting student achievement and teacher development and collaboration, Pete is committed to maintaining the school’s legacy of academic rigor and spiritual growth.
